Design panel presses Hit Tracks on facade change
Northborough's Design Review Committee pressed the builder of the Hit Tracks facility at One Lyman Street over an unapproved swap from concrete block to metal exterior panels.
Other Committee · Meeting of August 6, 2026
Northborough's Design Review Committee pressed the builder of the Hit Tracks facility at One Lyman Street over an unapproved swap from concrete block to metal exterior panels. Builder Patrick McCarty of McCarty Companies said no one on the applicant's side saw design review minutes flagging the issue "until like Thursday last week." Town staff said the change is substantial enough that the project may need to return to the Planning Board for an amendment to its special permit. No vote was taken on that item, but the committee unanimously approved a revised 112 Main Street sign, municipal wayfinding sign artwork, and new sign height standards (27 inches for Town Hall, the police station and DPW; 24 inches for the library).
Members also gave initial, informal feedback on a proposed 11,000-square-foot Celebree School daycare for about 150 children at 300 West Main Street, raising safety concerns about a planned rain garden near the drop-off area.
