Financial Planning Panel Disputes Records Request
Northborough's Financial Planning Committee reopened a dispute over a member's records request.
Other Committee · Meeting of October 29, 2026
Northborough's Financial Planning Committee reopened a dispute over a member's records request. Chair Ken Pickard said Town Administrator Stephanie declined to seek town counsel's opinion on the request's scope, while member Michael Shaka maintained that the committee's prior vote had not addressed his separate request for counsel review. Stephanie said the request was "over and above your role as a Financial Planning Committee member." Planning Director Lori Connors and Community Preservation Committee Chair John Campbell briefed the panel on the Community Preservation Act, citing nearly $15 million generated locally since 2004 and a current unreserved balance of $1.347 million.
Member John Rappa disclosed joining the Coalition for Housing Affordability and will recuse himself from related Community Preservation Committee votes. The committee approved two sets of minutes and adjourned unanimously around 8 p.m.
