Other Committee · Meeting of September 29, 2026
Northborough's DEIB Committee adopted two new goals and set an ADA compliance report for the Select Board. Meeting remotely Tuesday, the committee voted 5-0 by roll call to adjourn after member Jim Cain proposed building two outside partnerships and drafting an annual events calendar, saying the group needed structure beyond "specific documentation" and "next event" thinking. Member Bharti Patel recommended prioritizing four recurring town events, including Apple Fest and the December tree lighting, and offered donated children's party supplies for future tables.
Chair-led member Angie Sowden said she and a colleague are preparing an ADA compliance presentation for the Select Board's October 19 meeting. The committee also discussed a potential partnership with the "Story Bridge" storytelling program run through the Northborough-Southborough School District. The committee's next meeting is October 20 at 6:30 p.m.
