Other Committee · Meeting of October 1, 2026

Northborough's Community Preservation Committee shelved a bid to fund construction of the Aqueduct Trail Bridge after a preliminary estimate put the cost at $2.2 million. Coordinator Lori told members she was "a little bit astonished to see the price tag" and said she won't submit an application this cycle, citing the cost and an existing Allen Street sidewalk that already provides an alternate trail route. The committee previewed four other fiscal 2027 requests: about $20,000 for the Trails Committee, $60,000 for a Bartlett Pond herbicide treatment, $300,000 to $350,000 for Ellsworth McAfee Park basketball courts, and $265,000 for Trinity Church's steeple restoration.

Housing representative Ray Carlson said the Village Square affordable housing project remains stuck in the state funding queue: "We're still, we're on the list." Members approved March 5 minutes, 6-0-1, with new member Sylvia Probiza abstaining.
