Other Committee · Meeting of September 17, 2026

Northborough's Master Plan Implementation Committee reported that demolition on the Blake and Pierce Street project starts September 28, while debating whether the panel's work is nearly finished. Chair Rick Leaf said a town staff member, Lori, expects substantial completion by December 1, with street lighting delayed to January after a late permit approval. Lori also reported an ARPA-funded tree program will finish with 85 trees planted townwide, after sending roughly 200 letters to property owners.

On housing, Leaf detailed the new Northborough Coalition for Housing Affordability and a pending Lyman Street development on the former Westborough State Hospital site requiring at least 21 units under the town's 2025 inclusionary zoning rule. Member Jean Kennedy said "sixty or seventy percent" of master-plan recommendations are complete or underway, while member Millie Milton warned dissolving the committee would stall progress. The committee adjourned on a 7-0 roll-call vote and set November 19 to review a draft Select Board update.
