Northborough Panel Unanimously Backs Doucette for Traffic Safety Committee Seat

NORTHBOROUGH — June 23, 2026 — Northborough's Select Board interview subcommittee voted 3-0 to recommend appointing Ronald Doucette to the town's Traffic Safety Committee. The June 23 remote session included a briefing from Traffic Safety Committee member Bill Pierce, who described the panel's advisory role — making recommendations to the Select Board on speed limits, pedestrian safety, and heavy commercial vehicle exclusions — and its recent accomplishments, including ARPA-funded automatic crosswalk signs at all town schools and speed reductions on Crawford Street. Doucette, a 48-year Northborough resident, cited a career spanning safety programs at 3M and Welch's and eight years running CPR training for police and fire at Waltham Hospital. Subcommittee Chair Jeff Ostejai seconded the motion made by member Leslie Rutan; Pierce voted aye. The full Select Board is scheduled to act on the appointment at its July 13, 2026 meeting, for a term ending April 29, 2029.
