Northborough Police to Seek Tasers and Two Vehicles at 2026 Town Meeting

Northborough police chief previews taser replacements and two new cruisers for 2026 Town Meeting. A second request covers two Ford-platform vehicles — one patrol unit replacing a 2020 Chevy Tahoe and one administrative vehicle replacing a 2014 Ford Escape, both with approximately 100,000 miles.

Griffin noted that upfitting a raw police vehicle with lights, sirens, radios, radar, and a detainee compartment significantly raises the final purchase price above the base vehicle cost. No dollar figures were disclosed during the presentation; both items will go before Town Meeting voters.
